Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller joins us to discuss the role and challenges a new chief technology officer would face, but first, we have some breaking news about another administration appointment, this time around cybersecurity. With all the talk about the potential federal chief technology officer, the Congressional Research Service outlined several potential roles and challenges such a position would face. The CRS report says the overlap with existing federal offices as well as the longevity of the position are among the biggest questions that remain. Meanwhile, the CTO could swim in several functional lanes including infrastructure and cybersecurity. Jason also has details on his conversation with CRS’s John Sargent, the author of the report.
