As bring-your-own-device has made inroads into federal IT, it could pose a new threat to agencies.

Employee-owned devices has made the list of one of the biggest cyber threats, according to a forecast from M86 Security Labs.

And Android smartphones may be the biggest cyber threat to federal agency networks.

That’s because Droids are increasingly being targeted by hackers.

“Android is in many ways a victim of its own success,” the M86 threat forecast states. “As users flock to devices running the operating system, so do the attackers.”
