The Federal News Radio/United Way Community Spotlight for March is the Washington Regional Transplant Community.

Organ donation is needed more now than ever before. There are more than 117,000 individuals awaiting a transplant to save their lives and nearly 2,000 of them live in the Washington area alone. Every day in the U.S., 18 people die because there aren’t enough organ donors.
