Navy Adm. Jonathan Greenert, the chief of Naval Operations, called for "greater stamina" in the service's unmanned vehicles, specifically those that go undersea.
But the Navy also is working on land vehicles and a host of other next generation weaponry that will continue the Defense Department's self-proclaimed technological advantage.
At the Naval Future Force Science and Technology Expo in Washington on Feb. 4-5, the Navy displayed some of those new capabilities.
The expo featured a host of research and development across nine areas, including cybersecurity, power and energy, warfighter performance and platform design and survivability.
Federal News Radio's Jason Miller and Lauren Larson walked the expo floor and found some of the most advanced and promising technologies.
