Navy’s future tech: Rise of the machines
Adm. Jonathan Greenert calls for "greater stamina" in the Navy's unmanned vehicles, specifically those that go undersea.
"The concept of ACV 2.0 is to get back to the concept of being able to go from ship to shore when the ship is on the order of horizon distance from the shore," Rod Peterson, NSWC-Carderoc's program manager, said. "It will be a self-contained system, go high-speed from ship to shore, come into the beach area, transform itself into a ground platform and go inland."
