The U.S. Patent and Trademark Organization is getting into the Halloween spirit again by sharing spooky, gross or just plain bizarre patents under its #creepyIP hashtag for the fifth year in a row. This will be going on all month, so I’ll bring you a roundup of the week’s best each Friday in October.

Like this bear. Why does it need two faces? And why is one human?

Not sure this actually qualifies as creepy, but it’s strange enough. I guess it’s an early concept life-jacket?

But this. This is creepy.

Please, donate your body to science, not history. That’s what pictures are for.

And if you absolutely must have yourself preserved, at least commit to the creepiness.

Taxidermy is the only way to go.
