First off, the good news: Federal employees would get a pay raise in 2018. Civilian employees would see a raise of 1.9 percent, while the military would be looking at 2.1 percent.
Rep. Steny Hoyer said government needs to do more to be competitive with the private sector in pay and benefits in order to attract and retain quality employees, and called for higher pay and fewer cuts to benefits for federal employees.
