For the Defense Department, securely sharing data is not a new concept by any means. The idea that the Pentagon would share information across the military services and defense agencies, and with federal and international partners has long been a clarion call by all parties.

The problem for decades now, however, is easily traced to disparate systems, no true data standards and the inability to trust what others will do with “your data.”

The Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) initiative aims to bring what Lt. Gen. Dennis Crall, the top technology official on the Pentagon’s Joint Staff, called some “guideposts or stripe on the road that we can follow a cardinal heading that we can get behind and bring some order to how this is progressing.”

In this Expert Edition: Joint All-Domain Command and Control, you’ll explore how data is the glue that will hold JADC2 together.
