Cybersecurity experts have long believed that networks can adapt to be more intrusion-resistant. Now two researchers are collaborating to see if a self-morphing network can actually be built.
Scott DeLoach has teamed with Simon Ou to conduct the research. The Kansas State University professors received a $1 million grant from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The idea is for a network to randomly reconfigure itself to keep hackers and automated attackers off balance. The concept is called adaptive security. Kansas City Info-Zine reported the professors have enlisted three graduate students to help in the research.
