Steve Shih: Senior leadership is key during times of government change

The Senior Executive Service must be allowed to play a key role in change and reorganization.

The Senior Executive Service (SES) was designed to provide steady leadership during times of change and transition. But they need to be involved and active and engaged. Steve Shih, Deputy Associate Director for SES and Performance Management at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).  He told Federal News Radio’s Nicole Ogrysko most SESers know what they’re getting into during major agency transition – if top management lets them play a leading role.
