Can people with peanut allergies eat peanuts safely? It’s an important public health question, considering how widely peanuts have made their way into the food system. Turns out people with such allergies don’t live in a black-and-white situation. And they don’t necessarily have to live in a peanut-free bubble. That’s thanks to the work of Soheila Maleki, a lead scientist in food allergy research at the Agricultural Research Service in New Orleans, who joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin. Maleki is also a finalist in this year’s Service to America Medals program.
