Federal prison union says low staffing, tight budgets bad for guards’ morale

Staffing levels and morale appear to both be at low levels for guards who watch federal prisons. Crowding and tight budgets have put federal prisons into near-crisis, something Congress noted in 2016. Eric Young, national president of the American Federation of Government Employees Council of Prison Locals, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin with what he would like to see in the 2019 budget.
