The Internal Revenue Service has long had an on-again off-again relationship with private tax debt collectors. At the moment, it’s using them. That has National Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson concerned that the private collectors are hammering on the people least able to pay or if they do pay they might not be able to feed their families.
