After pushback, NSF implements 4.6% average pay raise for all excepted service employees

The National Science Foundation has confirmed that all of its excepted service employees will get a 4.6% pay raise for 2023. The announcement from agency leadership walks back an initial plan to give some upper-level NSF employees a 1% raise. It was an attempt to ensure pay differentiation within the agency, but it quickly gained pushback from employees and the union.
