DHS new technology aims to make it easier for citizens to apply for programs

A series of challenges in the new year, hosted by the Homeland Security Department’s Science and Technology Directorate, will help measure the accuracy of tools meant to test the validity of someone’s identity. The sessions will challenge industry to deliver secure, accurate, and easy-to-use remote identity validation technologies. This so agencies can prevent identity fraud when users apply for government services, open bank accounts, or verify social media accounts.
