OPM’s Strategic Plan includes the effort to close the government-private sector pay gap

The Office of Personnel Management has yet to release regulations that would encourage agencies to stop asking about job applicants’ salary histories. Some advocacy groups say agencies don’t need to wait for OPM. The idea behind not asking, is that it would help close the purported government-private pay gap, a goal of OPM’s strategic plan.
