GSA sets goals to shrink federal office space post-COVID, but needs to address maintenance backlog

General Services Administration Federal Building Service officials see a rare opportunity to reduce the federal government’s office space. Nearly half of GSA-leases will expire over the next four years, giving GSA a chance to shift people to government-owned buildings and save money.
