VHA center looks to help veterans transition, prevent suicide amid Afghanistan exit

Recent veterans encountering transition to civilian life often face uncertainty self doubt. Sometimes serious. Some of those returning from Afghanistan after the abrupt U.S. withdrawal might find the transition extra difficult. The Veterans Affairs Department has at least one staff psychologist who can empathize. A retired Army ranger with four tours of Afghanistan behind him, he’s now Co-Director of VA’s Transitioning Servicemember-Veteran and Suicide Prevention Center. Dr. Joe Geraci joins me now.
