The Pentagon held its annual Spirit of Service Awards on Thursday, in light of Public Service Recognition Week, to honor a total of 26 Defense Department employees who “display the core qualities of honor, integrity and excellence in everything they do,” said Michael Rhodes, director of administration for the department’s Office of the Chief Management Officer. Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan and representatives of the departments of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps were also present to distribute awards.
