Fun stuff: the other kind of tattoo

Federal News Radio speaks with Recreation News Editor Marvin Bond about interesting things to do in and near the nation’s capital. This week:

• come to Norfolk to enjoy a “tattoo” — a display of military band music, drumming and marching — at the annual Virginia International Tattoo (April 26-29).

The official event website says that “tattoos stem from a 17th-century European tradition of military drummers alerting soldiers that it was time to return to their barracks for the evening.”
