Fun stuff: until the mountains crumble to the sea

Federal News Radio speaks with Recreation News Editor Marvin Bond about interesting things to do in and near the nation’s capital. This week:

• unless there is an unexpected seismic shift in our region, in the next few months you will have a choice as to which way you would like to flee the heat of the city, toward the mountains or the sea. Good deals are to be had either way, such as those offered by the Boardwalk Hotel Group and the Fontainebleau in Ocean City, Maryland and at Deep Creek Lake in mountainous Garrett County.

The song “Baby, I’m Yours,” which contains the lyric “until the mountains crumble to the sea,” was first recorded by Barbara Lewis in 1965. It was written by a D.C. native, Van McCoy, who is best known for his 1975 disco hit, “The Hustle.”
