Fun stuff: experience a foreign land without leaving D.C.

Federal News Radio speaks with Recreation News Publisher Karl Teel about interesting things to do in and near the nation’s capital. This week:

• Armenia and Catalonia are the two foreign lands featured in this year’s Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the Mall in Washington (June 27-July 1 and July 4-8).

During America’s bicentennial year of 1976, the Folklife Festival, which usually takes place over the course of two weeks, lasted three months.
