Fun stuff: all the leaves are brown… and red, and yellow, and even green

Federal News Radio speaks with Recreation News Publisher Karl Teel about interesting things to do in and near the nation’s capital. This week:

• the season for fall festivals continues, among them one that allows you to spend a day amid nature’s autumnal color display, an art and wine festival at Virginia’s Caledon State Park (through tomorrow}.

  According to the Weather Channel, leaves are changing color later than usual in most of the eastern U.S. This is being attributed to a range of factors, including a late spring and warmer than usual temperatures in early October.
