Senate cybersecurity bill: one step closer to passing

WFED\'s Max Cacas reports.

One of several Senate bills concerning cybersecurity got its first airing on Capitol Hill Tuesday afternoon.

The chairman of the panel is quite certain that his bill will reach the finish line — and the desk of President Obama – by the end of the summer.

One of the reasons why the “protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset” bill is expected to be the one to beat is because its principal co-author is Connecticut’s Joe Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Federal News Radio’s Max Cacas has been following the proceedings and has more on the issue.
