NWS hunts for data on record-breaking heat

It\'s not as easy as it sounds.

Another record-breaking day of heat is roasting the D.C. region Wednesday.

The National Weather Service is tracking the weather closely and collecting data for future weather reports.

Gathering all that information isn’t as easy as it sounds, though.

Chris Strong is a warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service out in Sterling, Virginia and explains what, exactly, it is that they do.
