The Office of Personnel Management has officially defined what it means to be a federal IT security worker.

OPM spent the last six months collecting data and interviewing current cyber professionals to develop a common description that every agency can use to hire and train employees.

Nancy Kichak, OPM’s associate director for employee services, told WFED’s Jason Miller about the new competency model OPM and the CIO Council developed and how they are going to put it to use across the government.
