The Department of Veterans Affairs awarded a previously-terminated e-health record contract to Harris Corporation.

The Department of Veterans Affairs awarded a previously-terminated e-health record contract to Harris Corporation.

Earlier this month, the agency killed a $100 million contract to ASM Research, citing an investigation into conflicts of interest allegations with a subcontractor.

ASM was awarded the contract to build a central hub — or the “heart” — of the health-records system. The contract had been the largest contract awarded to the company in its 33 years of working with government.

The contract with Harris is worth more than $80 million, said Josephine Shuda, VA spokeswoman, in an email to Federal News Radio.
