Military doctrine and strategy starts with assumptions, such as that our leaders knows how to conduct a large-scale war. Or, our planes are so stealthy they will never be detected in time. These and many other assumptions are reassuring if they’re true but dangerous if they’re not. Nora Bensahel, distinguished scholar in residence at American University, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin to talk about those assumptions.
