GSA awards small business Alliant contracts

The General Services Administration awarded 72 companies a place on the $15 billion Alliant small business governmentwide acquisition contract.

GSA posted the winning vendors on FedBizopps.gov today.

The agency expects to award the large business version of Alliant–which is worth $50 billion–early in 2009, GSA said last week.

The agency had awarded the both contracts in August 2007, but they came under protest. GSA decided to reopen bids on the contracts and after more than a year, made the first set of awards to small businesses.

GASA had awarded 62 small businesses a place on the GWAC in December 2007 before deciding last April to reopen the bids.

Under Alliant small business, agencies can buy an array of technology services including a broad range of technical and management support services
