President Donald Trump’s plan to privatize the nation’s air traffic control may have been okayed by a House panel, but the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee is a different story. It approved a funding measure for the Federal Aviation Administration, which specifically leaves out the idea of turning air traffic control operations to a private company. (AP News)

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross revealed who will be running the Census Bureau now that former director John Thompson retired. Ron Jarmin, Associate Director for Economic Programs at the Census Bureau, will take over the exclusive functions and duties of the Director, while Associate Director for Demographic Programs Enrique Lamas will perform the non-exclusive ones. Another changing of the guard so to speak — Walter Reed National Military Medical Center has a new Director. Navy Captain Dr. Mark Kobelja will take over for Army Colonel Michael Heimall who is retiring after 30 years in the military.
