The basic strategy of moving to the cloud hasn’t always been what it is today. From the initial lift-and-shift to today’s “cloud smart” approach, the evolution and revolution will continue.

One example of this change over the last decade has been in data centers. The Office of Management and Budget previously focused on consolidation and optimization and now it’s more about optimization and moving to the cloud—whether it be a private cloud or a hybrid cloud set up or a multi-cloud environment.

Agencies will continue to transform their networks and systems and a more strategic approach will materialize putting mission and citizen services at the forefront of the strategy.
