Is Ecstasy the cure for PTSD? Clinical trials show powerful results

MDMA, commonly known as “Ecstasy” offers way more than its psychedelic, glow stick and rave reputation lead us to believe.

Marine Corps veteran Juliana Mercer, Policy Director for Healing Breakthrough, a nonprofit organization leading the charge to get the VA to begin using MDMA Assisted Therapy, shares the incredible results of a Phase 3 clinical trial.

We take a detailed look at the trials, where 67% of veterans who underwent MDMA Assisted Therapy were completely healed and examine how these studies are conducted.

And despite the drug receiving “breakthrough” status from the FDA, and poised for FDA approval soon, Mercer describes the challenges MDMA still faces before veterans will be able to get this treatment through the VA.
