Foodie and the Beast-September 8, 2019

Sunday, September 8, 2019 was our annual, “Be good by doing good” show, featuring area nonprofits and the great events they’re hosting around the area. Joining us were: Chris Shaughness, executive director of MCPAW (Montgomery County Partners for Animal Well-Being; the dedicated nonprofit fundraising partner of the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center) in with details of the groups kick-ass fundraiser – an upscale, 60’s-style frat party featuring awesome food and drink, a great auction and live music by Junior Cline and the Recliners; Melissa McCall and Amanda Garzon, in with info about how hydrocephalus affects thousands of infants and adults and about how you can help find a cure by joining the 2019 National Capital WALK To End Hydrocephalus – Saturday, September 28th at the
Lincoln Memorial; Aisha Bond and Aleka Ross, joining us with a ton of info about the upcoming, September 14, annual, Art All Night North Capitol DC’S only free overnight art festival; Benito Bermudez also was in – he’s the head roaster and founder of Café Unido in Panama City, now coming to Union Market, and so were cocktail mavens and rum lovers Duane Sylvestre and Chris Chapman Shakra, in with tastes and talk of … what else?… rum and their concept for a great (rum-inspired) staycation!
