Michele Sandiford is a highly experienced digital editor and producer at Federal News Network with over 20 years of experience in the news media. Along with editing and writing stories for the website, she books guests for the Federal Drive with Tom Temin.

Her career began as a production assistant at C-SPAN, where she covered a wide range of topics including elections, public affairs and non-fiction literary programming for C-SPAN 2’s Book TV. Over her 21-year tenure at C-SPAN, Michele produced daily coverage of congressional operations, national campaign debates and elections, international election coverage in the U.K. and Canada, and the U.S. – North Korea summit in 2018. She was also part of the production team at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Michele’s extensive experience and knowledge in politics make her a trusted voice in translating complex policy-making in Congress into issues that resonate with the American public. After leaving C-SPAN, she served as a custom producer at WJLA 7’s Government Matters program, further honing her expertise in government affairs.

In June 2023, Michele joined Federal News Network, bringing her wealth of knowledge and editorial experience to the newsroom. Her ability to distill policies and legislation works directly with the Federal News Network’s mission to help federal managers meet their mission, and to keep the federal workforce informed and up to date on crucial issues.

When she’s not in the newsroom, Michele loves attending author readings, book signings, and exploring independent bookstores. She also nurtures her passion for creative writing as part of a dedicated writing group. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Michele holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Howard University School of Communications in Washington, D.C., where she studied radio, television, and film production. She resides in Maryland.
