Capitol Police officers say a man was shot by police after drawing a weapon Monday at a U.S. Capitol checkpoint. He was taken to the hospital.
The suspect’s face was digitally altered by the Washington Post at the request of the Washington D.C. Fire and EMS Department. First responders transport the person believed to be the suspect in a shooting at the U.S. Capitol complex Monday, March 28, 2016, in Washington. Visitors and staff were shut in their offices and told to “shelter in place.” The shooting unfolded with Congress on recess and lawmakers back in their districts.
