Walter N. Schrecker retired as a colonel from the U.S. Air Force after a distinguished career as a pilot, flight instructor and examiner, commander and professor, who also served on the Air Staff at the Pentagon. Of his more than 6,000 total flying hours, Schrecker spent over 2,500 hours in combat. His decorations include Legion of Merit, two Distinguished Flying Crosses and 10 Air Medals. Schrecker is the father-in-law of Federal News Radio Editor-in-chief Lisa Wolfe.
