Personnelman 2nd Class Eve Hannah was discharged from the U.S. Navy after serving at the Enlisted Personnel Management Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“Yes, to be 18 and dropped of to work every day next to Bourbon Street,” she said, in an email. “It was the best. The Navy saved my life in many ways.”

Hannah is the stepmother-in-law of Federal News Radio digital editor David Thornton.
