The Homeland Security Department wants to consolidate its multiple procurement systems into one for the entire agency.

In a request for information issued April 2 on the FedBizOpps.gov Web site, DHS asks vendors for details on a portal and acquisition tools for use by as many as 2,000 employees.

DHS says the portal must be online, include a centralized repository for agency-specific templates, allow for simultaneous viewing by multiple users and a knowledge map for key acquisition subjects.

DHS says in the RFI that it “seeks to improve reporting and management controls by increasing data sharing to enable better business decisions in acquisition, procurement, logistics, payment and performance assessment.”

Vendor responses are due April 17.
