More federal employees who went on to become famous
Here are a few more federal employees who went on to become famous. Or, in one case, the other way around.
Kalpen Modi (who performs under the name Kal Penn) is rare; he became a federal employee after he was already famous. The actor, who played Kumar in the “Harold & Kumar” movies, worked for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2007, and in 2009 accepted the position of associate director in the Office of Public Engagement. He was later appointed to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities.
