When deciding whether to keep the coverage you have or switch to something else, Walt Francis of Checkbook Magazine says there are two bits of homework you need to do:

  1. ask yourself if your needs have changed in the past year, and
  2. find out if your plan has changed.

The second part is easy. Every brochure has a page spelling out every change being made for the next year. You can usually find it just inside the front cover.
