It was filed before the rash of recent allegations against several politicians, that didn’t stop it from already surpassing the 100,000 signature threshold needed to get a response from the White House. - Leaders of the House Ethics Committee announced that they have begun an investigation into Rep, John Conyers (D-Mich.) after receiving allegations of sexual harassment and age discrimination involving staff members. Conyers denied the allegations. BuzzFeed reports Conyers’ office settled with a former female staffer after she was fired for refusing his sexual advances. (Federal News Radio)
- Former director of the Office of Government Ethics Walter Shaub filed a complaint with the Office of Special Counsel, saying one of the President’s close advisors violated the Hatch Act. Shaub claimed Kellyanne Conway broke the law speaking about the Senate race in Alabama during an interview earlier this week. (Walter Shaub’s Twitter)
