A 10-year old hacker discovered a flaw in certain games for smartphones.
Most folks at DefCon fit the typical hacker profile – young adult males. But a 10-year old girl stole the show over the weekend.
The girl, who goes by the handle CyFi, told the “DefCon Kids” crowd that she had discovered a bug in several games for Apple and Android smartphones, CNET reports.
Frustrated with her progress in a certain farm-themed game, she decided to tinker with the timeframe within the game. She was able to force the game time to speed up, exposing the cyber loophole.
However, CyFi isn’t telling which games contain the flaw to give the companies time to fix the problems.
