Seventy-five years ago, Japan attacked American military forces at and around Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the incident that sparked the American entry into World War II.
This image shows Battleship Row at Pearl Harbor, during or immediately after the Dec. 7, 1941, raid. At the right, the USS West Virginia is \sunk next to the USS Tennessee. They are shrouded in smoke from burning oil. At the left, USS Oklahoma is capsized alongside the USS Maryland (BB-46). Crewmen from the Maryland are using fire hoses in an attempt to move the burning oil away from the ship.
