Anybody but Mullah Omar. Agence France Press is reporting the Afghan government is willing to negotiate with some elements of the Taliban to try to end the war in Afghanistan, but Omar, the leader of the Taliban, who provided shelter for Osama Bin Laden is not welcome. Saudi Arabia is brokering talks between the two sides. General David Petraeus, who takes over as head of the U.S. military Central Command today said recently the U.S. should also be ready to talk to them.
