Online Chat: Martha Rubenstein, CFO, NSF

Martha Rubenstein, the National Science Foundation’s chief financial officer, joined Federal News Radio for a free online chat to discuss her priorities and challenges as they relate to Federal News Radio’s exclusive CFO survey. During the chat, Rubenstein also discussed her agency’s new financial management system (iTRAK), how budget cuts are affecting her agency and office, implementation of the DATA Act, internal controls and risk management.

Martha Rubenstein has been NSF CFO since May 2010 and has worked at NSF since 1997. Before coming to NSF, Rubenstein began her career at the Bureau of Labor Statistics where she was responsible for budget analysis and management information systems development. She later worked at the Office of Management and Budget where she directed OMB’s decision support system, oversaw the system’s design and enhancement, and its use in supporting OMB’s governmentwide budget exercises.
