It’s unlikely an all-encompassing cybersecurity bill will pass Congress this year.

Any effort to get a cybersecurity measure passed will depend on piggybacking on other legislation, Cybersecurity News reports.

But experts say even that is not likely to happen.

According to Reuters, Capitol Hill has drafted a bill to set security measures for hardware and software purchased by the government, worth about $80 billion each year.
