U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel delivered supplies in support of the Japanese government's relief effort following recent earthquakes near Kumamoto.

A total of 18,000 pounds of relief supplies, including food and water, were delivered within the span of three hours. The 31st MEU is the only continually forward-deployed MEU and remains the Marine Corps’ force-in-readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
