E-prescribing is becoming even more popular with doctors across the country. The number of physicians electronically filing their patients’ prescriptions will have more than doubled in 2009, executives at Surescripts – an e-prescribing network – say. More than 23 percent of all office-based doctors, nurses, and physician assistants are e-prescribing. An increase of certified e-prescribing software is making it easier for doctors to take advantage of the technology.
