Patients worried about the security and privacy of their personal health information now have their own Bill of Rights. The American Health Information Management Association recently unveiled its Health Information Bill of Rights, a document they say will become a model for protecting patient information. The seven main principles of the bill address three main issues: accuracy of the information, appropriate access to the information and the highest standards of privacy and security for patients.
