What’s the answer to fixing the nation’s healthcare system? Ezekiel Emanuel, a White House adviser on healthcare policy, has an idea. Speaking at the Medical Group Management Association, Emanuel said doctors need to restructure their practices and be more patient-centered and data-driven. Instead of putting the focus on high-tech, doctors should practice more high-touch medicine, meaning a more proactive approach to monitoring patients, better access to doctors, and more coordinated care.
